Nathan Carter has revealed he’d love nothing more to settle down and start a family – however, he hasn’t met the right person just yet.
The country crooner admits he has found it difficult to find love, due to his career in music.
“I’d love to [get married and have kids] one day. I’ve bought a house that would fit about 10 kids in it. The relationship side of things just hasn’t worked out with anyone that I have been with.
“My parents have been married 32 years. I’m not afraid of commitment. I guess I haven’t met the right one yet,” he told the Irish Independent.
Before lockdown, Nathan would have spent a lot of time travelling, performing his tracks to audiences in various countries.
“In previous [relationships] it would have been pretty terrible because I was never here, which was the main problem, because I was constantly gigging and on tour all the time,” he said.
“The problem with being in the music industry is that the person you meet has to be so trusting of you: jealousy always comes into it, no matter who you are.
“They see other women at the front of the stage, who are hanging off you at the end of the night looking for pictures. It is natural for anybody to get jealous of their partner. So they would have to be very trusting.”
Nathan spent the majority of lockdown with his brother Jake and his girlfriend, Karen Byrne.
Speaking to VIP Magazine, Jake told us, ” I mean before lockdown I was lucky if I saw Nathan once a week. Either he was gigging when I was home, or I was gigging when he was.
“It definitely brought us closer together as brothers and we have always been very close. But yeah two months is probably the longest amount of time we have spent together in recent years. So, it was nice.”
The pair spent a number of months together, until lockdown restrictions lifted, and Jake and Karen returned to Dublin.
Recalling their time together, Karen told us, “Jake and Nathan remind me of me and my sisters. They are always playing tricks on each other. It was great fun. With the three of us in the same boat and all from the same kind of industry, we kept each other going.”
