Muireann O’Connell is sharing her support for all the house-hunters out there after she became a homeowner with her fiancé earlier this month.

The pair who got engaged back in 2021 were on the hunt to buy a house for four years before they eventually got the keys to their new home.

And let’s just say, it was a process!

Taking to Instagram, Muireann shared a video of herself lying on her living room floor, as they have yet to purchase any furniture.

“Not even a chair in the gaff. Taking to just lying on the floor… but it’s my floor,” she said.

Muireann then panned the camera over to the other side of the empty room and joked: “I could lie across my couch to be fair. All over the house is masking tape outlining where imaginary, hypothetical furniture will go.”

The Ireland AM presenter followed up with a screenshot of her Daft.ie account, adding: “One of the most freeing things: clearing your daft.ie filters.

“For anyone going through it, I know how s*** this is,” she sympathised.

“It was years. The personal stress. The relationship stress. I can only imagine the stress if you’re looking when you have children.

“I hate the ‘what’s for you won’t pass you by’ thing/ It used to get to me so much, even though people were just being lovely.

“Everyday, I expected a call saying the house had fallen through. I didn’t believe it until I had the keys in my hand but all I could do was be positive.

“Even if I was absolutely lying to myself and downing a bottle of wine of a Friday to keep the sanity. Much love to all the hunters.”

It’s not easy out there!
