Huge congratulations are in order for all involved with Mrs. Brown’s Boys today, as the hilarious show has been awarded the title of Best British Sitcom of the 21st century.

The result came after a poll was taken by Radio Times Magazine, and over 14,000 people voted in favour of Mrs Brown’s Boys, beating out huge productions such as The Office and Gavin and Stacey.

Mrs Brown’s Boys, created by and starring Irish comedian Brendan O’Carroll, sees Agnes Brown as a typical Irish mammy getting into all sorts of hilarious situations with her family by her side.

Brendan and his wife Jennifer Gibney, who also stars in the show, are over the moon with this accolade, leaving them “lost for words.”

“Lost for words… and that doesn’t happen to me very often. Myself and Jenny are dancing around the living room. I can die happy now… but I’ll take my time…,” he said.

Mrs. Brown’s Boys currently airs in Ireland, the UK, Canada and Australia. Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Movie was also released last year.
