Miriam O’Callaghan has revealed that she has one big regret from the early stages of her relationship with Steve Carson.
The RTÉ presenter met BBC producer Steve 21 years ago in Roscommon while working on a story in a famine museum – and the pair have been loved up ever since!
However, Miriam has admitted that she one major regret from the early stages of their relationship.
She told the Herald, “When I first met him, he left the BBC to join me and I always regretted that and wanted him to go back to the BBC.”
Miriam went on to deter rumours that Steve is set to move from his current role as head of BBC Northern Ireland to a position in RTÉ.
She said, “Don’t believe everything you read. I love my husband, but he is his own person. I would say, quite loudly, that is he very happy in the BBC.
“I’m very happy he’s there and he’s very happy he’s there. I want him to be wherever he is the most happy at work.”
“I have to say, I think at the moment he’s very happy but it’s his own life. We don’t run each other’s professional lives.”
The media powerhouse is back on our screens every Saturday with Saturday Night with Miriam and she’s delighted with the reception the show has received so far.
She said, “We’ve got the best figures in years, it’s fabulous.”
You can catch Saturday Night with Miriam on RTÉ One, this Saturday at 9:45pm.
