Miriam O’Callaghan has said “she’s very touched” by Kate Beckinsale’s praise for her in a recent interview.
The RTE broadcaster interviewed the Hollywood starlet alongside Colin Farrell while they were promoting their film Total Recall four years ago – and it seems that she left a lasting impression on Kate.
“I’ve done my fair share of chat shows and they can get a bit same same. A bit forgettable.” she told The Irish Sun. “But Miriam was an enchanting breath of fresh air.
“Colin knew her so I expected them to be reminiscing and have these Irish jokes and anecdotes which would go completely over my head, But she was so fabulous and gorgeous and lovely and it was like nattering with an old friend. Which is basically the best kind of conversation one can have.”
Speaking about Kate’s high praise, Miriam said she really bonded with the actress and was “touched by her kind words”.
“I remember Kate well – she came on my chat show with Colin Farrell. We had a lot of fun and I felt at the time that there was a real connection between us,” she told The Herald.
“I knew Colin from before and have been always incredibly fond of him, but I felt that Kate and I really bonded.
“She was warm and funny and kind. I am very touched by her kind words – I really am. Thank you Kate – come back soon for a catch up!”
