The students at St Brendan’s College in Killarney had a very special surprise this week, as past pupil Michael Fassbender popped in for a visit.
The Oscar nominated actor who has started in films such as 12 Years A Slave, Jane Eyre and Prometheus gave an impromptu acting class to the students, with the school sharing some snaps of the visit to social media.
Posting to Twitter they shared that the drama workshop was greatly enjoyed by all the TY students, and it seems that Michael enjoyed himself too!

It was reported earlier this year that the star and his family were looking to open an acting school in Co Kerry. The actor’s family, who hail from Killarney have recently applied for planning permission to open the school in the area.
RTÉ News have reported that the planning application was submitted by his father Josef Fassbender.
Previously his parents, Adele and Josef ran a restaurant in the same location before they retired, and are now looking to turn it into an acting centre.
Although Michael no longer lives in Ireland, he visits home frequently, and has been unable to do so as much during the pandemic. He is currently living with his wife, actress Alicia Vikander, in Portugal.
