Michael Fassbender has decided to take some time away from the big screen, after filming more than 25 films over the last decade.
The actor has decided that after the release of his upcoming flick Assassins Creed, he will take some well-earned downtime to relax.
Speaking to Time Out Michael said that over the last ten years he’s been somewhat of a workaholic, giving his work every ounce of his energy; and the 39-year-old now feels it is the right time to take a step back.
“It’s been pretty full-on. I had a ferocious appetite and energy for it, and I went at it like a maniac. But I’m going to take some downtime now. The last five years, I was verging on being a workaholic. I’ve just been going from film to film.
“I don’t know. I’m definitely going to take some time off acting now. I’ve given it everything up to this point,” he said.
The Light Between Oceans star also hasn’t ruled out going behind the camera in the future, and trying his hand at more producing. He feels that perhaps when his time as an actor comes to an end, it could be a good next step.
“I can see it. I’m not ruling it out. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but a part of me thinks you have a time as an actor when you’re at your best. There’s a journey to it, and then it’s downhill,” he said.
