Met Eireann advises people around Ireland to stay indoors from these times

They have issued different advice for different parts of the country

As ex-hurricane Ophelia has made it”s way to Ireland, schools, banks and businesses are closed across the country.

Met Eireann has been keeping the public informed on the best possible course of action and issuing regular updates.

The service has also advised from what time people should stay indoors in different areas across Ireland.

In the latest update, the  meteorological service has described the weather as violent and destructive in some parts on the country.

“Ex-hurricane Ophelia is forecast to track up over western parts of Ireland during the daytime today. Violent and destructive gusts of 120 to 150 km/h are forecast countrywide,” the warning read.

It added: “These over Munster and south Leinster this morning, will extend quickly to the rest of the country this afternoon. Also heavy rain and storm surges along some coasts will result in flooding. There is a danger to life and property”

Met Eireann is also warning people in different areas around the country to stay indoors from these times below:

Coastal areas of Cork and Kerry are advised to stay indoors from 7am.

Those in the remaining parts of Munster should remain indoors from 9am.

South Leinster and Galway are advised to stay in from 12pm.

Those in Dublin and the remaining parts of Leinster to remain inside from 1pm.

People in North Connacht and Ulster should stay indoors from 3pm.
