Melanie Murphy shares first details of her new book

Melanie Murphy has revealed book number two is on the way!

Following the success of her debut fiction novel If Only in 2019, the Youtube star turned author has been busy putting pen to paper, creating the new tale titled Glass Houses.

The book, based around the life of protagonist Jenna Walker, is due out next year.

Melanie decided to give followers a sneak peak of what they can expect, and shared a blurb of the book which reads; “Jenna Walker has suddenly found herself with no job, no boyfriend, nowhere to live – and she’s been wondering for a while now if, apart from her beloved cat Bertie, she has anything to live for. She really doesn’t want to turn up on her sister’s doorstep but that feels like her only option…

“Already stretched between her job and the demands of looking after their mother, Rosie is not happy about having yet another person to take care of. If only one thing in her life would work out the way she wants it to…

“When their grieving neighbour, a retired doctor, has the idea to start a mysterious community garden project, the sisters soon find themselves persuaded to get involved. And as they spend time working side by side, watching what they plant together grow and flourish, strange and wonderful things start to happen, things that will change their lives forever.”

It’s been a very exciting 12 months for Melanie, who announced the arrival of her first son in September 2020.

At the time of his birth she said, “Eight days before my due date, on the 25th of September, my husband and I welcomed our first son into this world!

“A massive 9lb 3oz, brown hair and midnight blue eyes after 25 hours of natural labour which had to end in forceps delivery due to concerns over my exhaustion and over the baby’s position when they checked for his head, which then led to three bad tears and some other issues.

“I’ve had to be kept in hospital a few nights with only one visitor (and set visiting times) due to Covid. That’s been the hardest part.”

Melanie and her husband Thomas don’t want to share many pictures of the baby online in a bid to protect his privacy, and any they do share, his face will be covered.

“I’m keeping his identity offline, but I’ll share as much about my journey of motherhood as is of interest, without putting him out there!”

We wish the family continued happiness!
