Maura Higgins is taking to the silver-screen!
That’s right, while we’ve seen the Longford lady on reality TV, social media, modelling campaigns, and presenting gigs, were about to see her in cinemas, as she is taking on the acting world.
So, what will her first role be? Well, according to The Sun, Maura is reportedly set to appear in an upcoming comedy, The Spin. Best of all it is set in Ireland!
A source told the publication: “Maura plays a character called Rose in The Spin. It’s a British film which follows two friends travelling through Ireland looking for old music records.”
The Love Island star has reportedly already started working on the project, shooting some scenes in Belfast.
“The film is a comedy and Maura was the perfect fit for the role. She started work on The Spin over the weekend in Belfast and really impressed the producers,” they continued.
And this might just be the start of a career-change for the model. As they explained: “Maura throws herself into any new projects and is always keen to learn.”
“The film could open a lot of new doors for Maura and it’s a very exciting time.”
Maura announced her first venture into the acting world last week, although didn’t share what project she was working on.
Sharing the news on IG, she teased: “Script reading on my flight… today I’m going to be an actress.”
“Btw I have never acted in my whole life so this will be very interesting.”
