Following his win at last weekend’s IFTA ceremony, Mattress Mick is in talks about landing a film sequel for his movie Mattress Men.
The bedding businessman took home the George Morrison feature award from the prestigious ceremony, and is honoured to have been recognised for his efforts.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror Michael Flynn also admitted that himself and his team got a lot of negative attention when they decided to follow their own business plan, and they’re happy now to be proving the haters wrong.
“We never thought it would go this far, I thought it would just be a skit, wearing the costumes a bit of fun and now it’s gone to the stratosphere.
“They’re talking about doing part two, there’s going to be another angle as there’s loads more material left.
“It’s great to get recognition from IFTA, it’s a boost to morale, it’s hard to put yourself out there, it’s not easy to become a public figure.
“There were alot of people laughing at me saying who’s this eejit, you’re not performing in a business like way, I just went with my own plan and my instincts and I never expected a film to be made about us.
“As a result of the movie’s worldwide success and now the IFTA, people see me as a real businessman, I’m a fighter and I don’t give a fiddlers what I have to do to get to where I am.
“I never expected the fame or the accolades, all I ever wanted to do was to sell mattresses,” he said.
