Yes, Doireann Garrihy and Mark Mehigan celebrated their six-month wedding anniversary this week, and Mark had the sweetest surprise (excuse the pun!) in store for his newlywed wife.
Taking to her Instagram Story on Thursday, Doireann revealed that Mark had gifted her a smaller version of their wedding cake.
Doireann described the chocolate biscuit cake as the “most sensationally delicious thing of all time”.
She also shared an array of photos from the big day itself, captioning her post: “Six months of us @mehiganmark 🤍💍✨.”
The couple tied the knot at a local church in Straffan last December, before hosting their wedding reception at The K Club in Co. Kildare.
“It’s really hard in the run up to believe that is true because you want it to be the best day ever, so the stress in advance is necessary because you do all that so you can relax on the day,” she added.

“The week of it, I was, of course, nervous, excited, bursting for the day to happen, and then there’s a lovely feeling after in that you’re so happy it’s done, and it went well, and you can think about other things, bar the wedding again.
“But now I’m like, aw, I’d love to do it all again!”
Earlier this year, the couple also annouced that they are expecting their first child together.
“We are beside ourselves with joy. Here’s to the greatest chapter yet,” Doireann shared alongside an Instagram post which sees Doireann holding up an ultrasound while Mark cradles her belly.
