This week saw many familiar female faces step out to support women’s health at the Bayer Health Be V Confident event, at the Stone Leaf restaurant in south Dublin.
Celebs such as radio presenter Blathnaid Treacy, designer Emma Manley and camogie champ Anna Geary spoke at the event about various issues affecting women’s confidence, in an effort to get women talking and feeling better about their health.
In a survey done by Bayer, who have launched their new Canestest and Canesbalance products, 0% of women said that they were completely happy with how they look, close to 70% said they were embarrassed to discuss their intimate health issues with a GP, and almost a fifth of those surveyed said they wait to see if intimate health symptoms go away on their own rather than seeking help.
There was a panel of women including blogger Rosemary MacCabe and Dr. Sinead Beirne, who discussed women’s health issues on the night, in an effort to lesson the stigma and raise awareness.
What a great event!
