Mamma Mia! 3 may very well be in the pipelines, according to recent reports.
Both the producer behind the franchise and cast members have hinted at a third edition to the blockbuster.
Speaking to Collider, Amanda Seyfreid who played the main character of Sophie on-screen admitted that she and the rest of the cast are already on board with making the third film.
‘Listen, every single person in that movie would say yes in a heartbeat because we want to hang out with each other,’ she said.
‘That’s what we talked about last time, like did we ever think that we’d end up here again on an island in Croatia? So yeah, I wish there was a Mamma Mia 3…’
Our very own Pierce Brosnan hasn’t spoken about the film rumours just yet, but judging from the success of his performance in the first and second film, we imagine he would have no issues about being on board with a third.
The first Mamma Mia! hit cinemas back in 2008, going on to become an international success. Ten years later the sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was released, proving to be a massive box office hit with it grossing an estimated $395 million worldwide.
When exactly we can look forward to the third movie hitting our screens we don’t know, as nothing has yet been confirmed, but in the meantime, we will keep our hopes up that it will be sooner rather than later!
