Lucy Kennedy has been with her husband Richard Governey for 17 years now, and they remain just as in love as ever. The TV3 presenter admits that herself and her hubby are total opposites, and thats partly what made her fall in love with him.
However, although Lucy says that they balance each other out as a team, Richard has no interest in joining his wife on television because that’s “just not his thing.”
Speaking to the Herald she said, “Absolutely, he would not. He is the opposite of me. He is shy, calm and completely normal. He’s extremely funny and it’s one of the reasons why I fell in love with him.

“He makes me laugh more than anybody else but TV is just not his thing. We are the perfect balance for each other.”
The pair have two children together, 6-year-old Jack and 4-year-old Holly, with a third on the way. The excitement is building for the Seven O’Clock Show host and her family as the new arrival should be here just in time for Christmas.
Although having three children will be a new challenge for the parents, Lucy says that they split the work evenly and it doesn’t take away from their marriage at all.
“Jack is nearly seven and Holly is four-and-a-half, so they are counting the sleeps with me at this stage. I think we have about 55 sleeps to go, it’s very exciting.
“We’re very 50/50. We’ve been together 17 years so we know each other inside out.
“I always say to people marry your best friend and you can’t go wrong. I know I did. It’s not a case of keeping the romance alive, it’s just alive,” she said.
How sweet?
