Lottie Ryan has shared an update with her followers as she returned to work after maternity leave.
The RTÉ 2FM DJ took the reins once again on her show again last week and previously opened up about how nervous she was leaving her little one for the first time as she returns to work.
Now, after completing her first week back on the airwaves she spoke about how it feels to be back; “I was so busy during the week, it was my first week back into the office back into work and on air after my maternity leave.”
“It was hectic and exciting and nerve wrecking and so many wonderful things.”
The 36-year-old revealed the pros and cons to returning to the studio; “It’s so good to be back it is so so good to be back and I can’t think properly anymore. Baby brain is a very real thing, that is not just a saying, genuinely a real thing.”
“Being back in the office I knew I was going to miss work but my God sometimes it’s not until you get back to doing something that you really see how much a part of you it is.”
Continuing the new mum shared; “Just to be back in studio and back on air and seeing all my friends again and being productive and doing things that make me feel like me it’s just been so long and it’s just a really good feeling.”
“Like I’m exhausted but exhausted in the best possible way if that sounds like it makes sense,” she added.
Last week the Dancing with the Stars winner revealed that she received hate online for making the decision to send baby Wolf to creche whilst she returned to work.
Sharing that she found herself very nervous dropping him off for the first time, these nerves were made more difficult to deal with as people on social media began to criticise her for it too.
She said; “I didn’t sleep last night. It’s such a strange, strange feeling because I’m so excited to be back, and I’m so nervous for Wolf starting creche.”
“I was shook by some of the messages that other mothers sent me. You know it was a difficult week for me, it is not easy putting your kid into creche, and it is very emotional and he is very young.”
Chatting about it further today on social media she said that he has settled in so well; “And more to the point I have settled really well because I was so nervous and anxious about it.”
“The girls in the creche that are looking after him, I’m obsessed with. They’re so cool and they’re so lovely and so nice and it just makes everything so much better.”
“So I just feel very lucky, very blessed to be in a situation where I am that comfortable and confident and happy with the people that are looking after him,” she added.
