Dancing With The Stars judge Lorraine Barry has spoken about the pain of suffering three miscarriages, sharing that although she dreamt of having one, a family wasn’t her calling.
The 57-year-old chatted openly to Woman’s Way about her attempt to start a family some 20 years ago.
“I wanted a family but I had miscarriages and it didn’t work out for me”
“When you leave it until you’re 35 plus years and you’re a dancer, the stress levels are extremely high and it makes it difficult”
Following on from the heartbreak of suffering multiple miscarriages, Lorraine says that she threw herself into dancing and her career in order to cope with her pain.
“But you know, I turned the page and I realised I could go back dancing, and actually some of my friends with children say I’m lucky as I can still do whatever I want”
“I know I didn’t get that family I hoped for, but you have to realise that you can’t have everything”
Dancing With The Stars returns to RTE this Sunday, the 9th of January at 6.30pm.
