We’ve all been glued to our tv screens and phones every time it comes to another announcement from the Taoiseach, as we learn which restrictions will be lifted and if we are any step closer to normality.
If you’ve been watching Leo Varadkar’s speeches you may have recognised some familiar wording from films, poems and songwriters. Leo is a fan of an inspirational quote, and it turns out we’re not the only ones who have noticed.
The Lord of the Rings actor Sean Astin discovered that Leo had quoted his character in a recent speech and sent a video in to Doireann and Eoghan on 2FM challenging Leo for his next one.
“Terminator, Dermot Kennedy, Heaney and me, that’s good company. Now I’m going to bet you fifty quid, says you can’t fit mean girls in to the next one?” he suggested.
There has been no reply from the Taoiseach about his speech suggestion just yet, but we don’t think Doireann and Eoghan will let him away with it lightly.
We’ll be waiting to see if a Mean Girls quote sneaks into his next announcement!
