Now that we’ve officially said goodbye to our (short) summer and entered into the autumn months, it’s easy to succumb to the colder weather, crawl up in a ball on the couch and binge on Netflix for the rest of the season. But despite the darker evenings and decreasing temperatures, there’s still just as much stuff going on! We’ve picked our top things to do this weekend that’ll get you out and about!
The Green Door Market
This gem is located in Newmarket Dublin 8, it’s an indoor farmer’s/food market with stalls supplying excellent quality produce. The organisers’ mission is to bring top quality food in an inviting space where customers can enjoy a convivial market experience and meet the people who produce their food. It’s a perfect day out for any foodie, they sell organic vegetables, fruit and meat, fish and shellfish, excellent quality bread and baked goods, cheese, charcuterie and much more. The market is open Saturday 9.30 to 4pm and Sunday 11.00 to 5pm.
Ireland shed a tear
This play is being shown as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival and is written by talented Irish playwright, Michael Collins. Written to commemorate the first anniversary of the Carrickmines tragedy, it portrays the life experiences of one Traveller family, while engaging the wider community in a dynamic and lighthearted way. Pick your own pumpkin
This weekend you can pick your own pumpkin from a pumpkin patch in Co.Meath. There’s also a sweetcorn maze and a patch to pick your own potatoes. There is no cover charge, all you have to do is pay for your pumpkin! It’s the perfect day out for the whole family -for more information, visit their Facebook page.
