Boho styles are sticking around for another season, in both the fashion and beauty industries. Beachy waves, soft plaits and slick headbands will be summer staples when it comes to hair this year.
We were loving Blathnaid Treacy’s boho up do at last year’s Peter Mark VIP Style Awards. Although it looks complicated and hard to recreate, Peter Mark hair stylist Grace Carr let us know how to achieve this gorgeous look at home.
“You would get two sections of hair, split them in half, and wrap them around each other. You push it up slightly with a backcomb brush. Then clip it into place. It’s that simple,” she said.
Grace also told VIP Magazine that this look doesn’t require a lot of products, and is best done on day old hair- could this get any easier?
“You don’t want too much product in the hair, because you want a lot of texture through it. Use a small bit of hairspray with clips.
“For an upstyle, always wash your hair the night before – never on the day. If it’s too silky, it’ll just fall out. Hairspray will make it easier to work with, so maybe put a bit on your hands and when it’s done, spritz some on,” she said.
