Lidl Ireland has issued an urgent recall for the Snack Day Sweet Popcorn product that was on sale in their Irish stores last month.
The company ask that the product is returned to the store at which it was bought from, due to the fact that high levels of tropane alkaloids have been detected.
The German product has the best before date 30/12/2018 and 31/12/2018.
“Lidl Ireland is recalling the above two batches of Snack Day Sweet Popcorn due to an elevated level of tropane alkaloids,” The Food Safety Authority said in a statement on their website.
“The implicated product was on sale in Lidl Ireland stores from 7 May.
“Lidl has issued an in-store notice requesting customers who have bought this product to return it to a Lidl store.”
