Last night, Lesley Roy took to the Eurovision stage for Ireland in the first semi-final of the annual music competition. After her amazing performance of ‘Maps’, Lesley sadly missed out on a spot in the final.
Lesley performed against 16 other countries, but only 10 went through to the final. Including Azerbaijan, Malta, Lithuania, Norway, Israel, Russia, Cyprus, Sweden, Belgium and Ukraine.
After the show, Lesley took to Instagram to share her thanks with her fans and followers:
“I gave it my all for Ireland for the last 18+ months! I am so grateful for such an amazing team and creative staging.”
“This Eurovision experience has been so memorable during such a historic time for everyone across the globe. Thank you @rteone, @michaelkealy1, everyone on my team, my friends, my family, my wife and the Irish cousins. 🇮🇪🙏🏼💚”
Plenty of people took to the comments to congratulate Lesley, including Una Healy who wrote “You were amazing 💚”.
This comes after Una shared that she’s open to representing Ireland in the next Eurovision song contest.
Saying that she would never say never, the songstress opened up on the Fascinated podcast with Gearoid Farrelly, sharing her thoughts on entering the singing contest. “I don’t know. Maybe, actually. Yeah, I wouldn’t say never.
“It would all depend on the song. You would have to get real amazing banger of a song or a huge, amazing ballad”
Sharing her conditions, she added: “It would have to be unbelievable. I wouldn’t do it unless I had the right song”.
