Navigating motherhood without losing yourself isn’t easy, and Lauren Arthurs doesn’t pretend it is.
Since welcoming her second daughter last November, Lauren has continued to keep her followers updated, regularly sharing glimpses of her family life on social media.
Now, in a recent Instagram Q&A, the mum-of-two opened up about navigating life after becoming a parent, admitting that while it’s impossible to have your “old life” back, it is possible to find a new balance.
“I always went into motherhood with the hope not to lose myself in the process,” she admitted.

But with the support of her husband, John, she’s worked to create space for both family life and personal time, something she believes is essential.
“It’s busy, it can be chaotic, but we have both established a good balance in our family and personal life,” she noted.
Lauren also shared that her approach to motherhood is rooted in teamwork, honesty and self-care.
“It’s hard to constantly pour from an empty cup,” she explained, noting that balance doesn’t mean perfection, but intention.

While life can be busy and chaotic, Lauren is realistic about the fact that every family looks different.
Rather than offering one-size-fits-all advice, she emphasised the importance of finding what works for you and leaning on the people around you.
For Lauren, that support system has made all the difference.
“John and I are a great team, and without that I wouldn’t be able to manage at all.”
