Not willing to let lockdown get in the way of her fun, Laura Whitmore enjoyed a Star Wars themed party for her birthday.
Fiancé Iain Stirling pulled out all the stops for her big day, decorating the house with memorabilia and banners.
The Bray native, who turned 35 yesterday, dressed up as Princess Leia for the occasion, while Iain channeled his inner Han Solo.
“If Princess Leia had the option she’d be wearing these slippers too,” Laura said alongside a snap of herself in the costume.
“May the fourth be with you! Had such a great birthday yesterday. From Zoom lunches with the family to balcony drinks with friends and then of course a watch a long Star Wars!
“Thanks Iain for organising, baking, your technological genius and for getting me these slippers!”
Earlier this week it was revealed Love Island won’t be back on our screens this summer due to Covid19.
Director of Television at ITV, Kevin Lygo has said, “We have tried every which way to make Love Island this summer but logistically it’s just not possible to produce it in a way that safeguards the wellbeing of everyone involved and that for us is the priority.”
He continued, “In normal circumstances we would be preparing very soon to travel out to the location in Mallorca to get the villa ready but clearly that’s now out of the question.
“We are very sorry for fans of the show but making it safely is our prime concern and Love Island will be back stronger than ever in 2021.”
Laura, who hosts the show, took to social media following the announcement and said, “Like with a lot of things because of restrictions with travel, social distancing and unable to plan ahead, Love Island is postponed until 2021.
“Great news is that there have been more applications then any other series! Next year is going to be big.”
