Laura Whitmore has asked viewers to ‘be kind’, as Love Island contestants are being trolled online.
Last night’s finale saw Irishman Greg O’Shea win alongside Amber Gill, beating the likes of Tommy and Molly-Mae, India and Ovie and Maura and Curtis.
After reading some unnecessarily harsh comments online, Laura, who’s dating the show’s narrator Iain Stirling, advised people to think before they tweet.
“Waking up after Love Island final and seeing people saying some horrible things on this forum about the participants,” she began.
“Remember your words are powerful, they are people and you have a responsibility for your actions and how you make others feel. Be kind.”
While the show is now over, Islanders are spending one last day together, as they’re briefed by show bosses on life outside the villa.
A source told The Sun, “Bosses are leaving no stone unturned this year. The first day of freedom after the villa was historically a free-for-all, they are now making everyone stay put and have a ‘down day’ with bespoke sessions.
“It’s a day of adjusting back to civilian life. Their lives aren’t going to be the same again so experts will be on hand for any questions or worries they have.”
