Laura Fox has shared an emotional tribute to her beloved dog Thor as she marked one year since his heartbreaking passing.

The RTÉ 2FM presenter took to her Instagram Stories to reflect on the loss, remembering the much-loved pup who had been by her side through some of life’s biggest moments.

“It’s Thor’s one-year anniversary today, which is so hard to believe,” she told her followers.

“I thought that I was totally fine and then I was like, ‘Okay, let’s go straight to the park and go for a big walk,’ and now I just can’t believe that it’s been a full year.”

Laura admitted that while some people may not understand the depth of her grief, losing Thor is something she will always carry with her.

The presenter went on to explain that she discovered the phrase “soul dog” after Thor’s passing, saying it perfectly captured the bond they shared.

“I learnt the term ‘soul dog’ last year, and it does hit different.

“He was honestly the best dog ever,” she concluded. “He was genuinely my best friend.”

Thor passed away suddenly in July last year, with Laura sharing the devastating news alongside a series of photos celebrating their life together.

At the time, she revealed she was “heartbroken” following his sudden death and announced she would be taking a short break from her RTÉ 2FM show as she grieved.

“You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, Thor baby, and I’m sorry that you were taken so soon,” she wrote in an emotional tribute.

Laura also shared how much she had hoped Thor would be part of her wedding to fiancé Brian Moran, admitting she was “so sad” he wouldn’t be there to celebrate with them.

Over the years, Thor became a familiar face on Laura’s social media, with the presenter regularly sharing snaps of their walks, adventures and cosy days at home together.
