The Late Late Show returns to our screens after its summer break, and the them is very much the Rio Olympic!
We revealed earlier in the day that, courtesy of a picture on social media of Michael Conlan getting suited and booted for his big appearance, the boxer was going to appear to talk about his disappointment at losing out on a boxing medal in such controversial circumstances.
Now comes the news that the O’Donovan brothers from Cork, who won a rowing silver medal, will join Michael on the Late Late sofa, and no doubt charm the audience, and the viewing public, in the way they have done in all their press interviews so far.
Celebrating beside Gary and Paul will be Annalise Murphy, who also did the country proud by winning a silver medal in sailing. And as if that wasn’t enough to cheer about, Paul O’Donovan will also talk about his famous solo gold medal at the recent World Championships!
The Olympics also hit the headlines for what happened outside the competition, of course, and the whole controversy surrounding IOS boss Pat Hickey, his imprisonment in Brazil, and the question of whether Irish Olympics tickets were being sold illegally on the black market will be addressed by Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, who will chat with Ryan about his investigation into the whole affair.
Sounds like an unmissable return for Ireland’s favourite show!
