It’s official!
Kieran Cuddihy will replace Joe Duffy as host of Liveline following the veteran broadcaster’s retirement last June.
The news came just after Ray D’Arcy announced his departure from the radio station.

Kieran has been working as a broadcaster since 2011 and took over on Newstalk’s current affair programme, The Hard Shoulder, in 2020.
He also hosts Virgin Media’s The Tonight Show every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10pm, however it’s unclear whether or not he will continue to.
Confirming Kieran’s new role, RTÉ said: “As Liveline celebrates 40 years on air, Kieran Cuddihy will take the helm each day from 1.45 pm, getting to the heart of the discussions that truly matter to the people of Ireland.
“Liveline has become a significant part of Irish life and Kieran will now take the driving seat and continue the evolution of this iconic Irish institution.”

The updated weekday schedule brings a fresh lineup of presenters, programmes, and time slots, including two new hosts taking over Drivetime from Sarah McInerney and Cormac Ó hEadhra.
Kicking off the day at 9am, the brand-new Today with David McCullagh offers a sharp and accessible look at the day’s biggest stories as they unfold, while Oliver Callan moves to a new 11am slot with an extended two-hour show blending insight, humour, and entertainment.
Rachael English will continue to host the award-winning News at One, followed by Kieran Cuddihy’s Liveline.
Later in the afternoon, Katie Hannon and Colm Ó Mongáin take over with Drivetime from 4pm, offering in-depth news, politics, and cultural coverage during the evening commute, before a new sports news programme airs at 6pm.
The new weekday schedule on RTÉ Radio 1 will launch later this year.
