Speaking to the Irish Daily Star, Conor revealed it was only last Thursday when they discovered the doctors could do no more to save Keelin from the disease.

He said, “When they told us on Thursday that pretty much it was the end of the line, she accepted that. Her approach to life was to just keep going.”

Tributes have been flooding in for the late presenter, since the news broke of her passing.

Speaking on the RTE News, Caitriona Perry said, “Just a word to say thank you for your messages of condolences, well wishes and support following Keelin’s passing”.

Caitriona also described Keelin as “a role model, a fearless journalist and inspiring woman” who was “trusted by viewers right from the start”.

She went on to say; “Her family were the centre of her world and our thoughts are with them at this time. She was a phenomenal mother, a great journalist and my lovely friend who will be so missed.”

Mary went on to say; “She was so young, she was a robust journalist but she was kindness itself. She was always obliging and just a lovely lovely person.”
