Katherine Lynch has made a lasting impression on the first episode of Operation Transformation by donning a pair of red heels while taking part in swimming lessons with her fellow leaders on the show.
The comedian is taking part in the celebrity spin-off programme along with celebrity lawyer Gerald Kean, funnyman Karl Spain, Midday presenter Elaine Crowley and RTÉ Radio 1 reporter Brenda Donohue.
RTÉ have released a sneak peak into the first episode of the show, set to make it’s debut tonight, and unsurprisingly, Katherine seems to be the prime source of entertainment as she boldly steps into the DCU swimming pool in a pair of stunning heels to match her red swimsuit!
The funny woman admitted that she wore the glamorous shoes because she needed a confidence boost for her first time baring all to the nation.
“It was week one and I still needed a tiny bit of costume just to get me through the fear of getting into a pool in my togs in front of the nation,” she told the Herald.
“I wore them because I’m a punk and I bloody well am not going to do what I am told! So I wore the high heels so there was a little bit of defiance, a little bit of Katherine Lynch, a little bit of comedy, a little bit of glam! Otherwise I thought the camera was just going to have pictures of my cellulite bum.”
Katherine went on to say that it was surprisingly easy to walk in the bold shoes underwater.
“I kept them on very tight and a lovely suction happened when I got into the water. I went, ‘Oh that’s great, they are going to have to ply them off with a pliers’,” she said.
“Actually, I was able to do the walking and everything underneath the water pretty good in the high heels. I think it gave me a little bit more of a stride.”
Celebrity Operation Transformation airs today at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.
