British actress Kate Beckinsale has praised Miriam O’Callaghan for her ‘enchanting’ interview style and compared talking to miriam to “nattering with an old friend.”
The Irish tv presenter interviewed the British actress alongside Colin Farrell while they were promoting their film Total Recall four years ago, and having experienced a lot of similar interviewers, Kate described Miriam’s interview as “a breath of fresh air.”
“I’ve done my fair share of chat shows and they can get a bit same same. A bit forgettable.” she told The Irish Sun. “But Miriam was an enchanting breath of fresh air.”
Before going into the interview, Kate was aware that Miriam and Colin knew each other, and she expected them to have a number of jokes and anecdotes that she wouldn’t understand, but this wasn’t the case at all.
“Colin knew her so I expected them to be reminiscing and have these Irish jokes and anecdotes which would go completely over my head,” she said.
“But she was so fabulous and gorgeous and lovely and it was like nattering with an old friend. Which is basically the best kind of conversation one can have.
“It felt like you were sitting in her living room, putting the world to rights. You forgot there was an audience there watching and cameras pointing at you.”
