Karen Koster has opened up about motherhood and marriage, revealing that she’s over the moon and feeling entirely blessed with her little family.
The Xpose star, who has been enjoying her maternity leave over the past few months, sat down with VIP Magazine for the first exclusive photoshoot with hubby John, and babies Finn (19 months) and John Jnr (5 months).
The new mum opened up about what it’s like having two children so close in age, revealing that while it’s tough, she wouldn’t change it for the world.
Speaking to VIP Magazine, Karen said, “It’s intense, but when I see the boys looking at each other and smiling, it’s worth it. I feel like the luckiest woman on earth. Now, when the pair of them are crying at the same time, it can feel like there’s someone sitting on my chest, and I can’t catch a breath.
“I was pretty surprised that my body could get pregnant that quickly again. I mean, I was pregnant for most of Finn’s first year; there’s no wonder I was an emotional wreck.
“I’m already a teary person, I was just so touched by everything. It’s a mix of magic and manic. When it’s busy, you don’t know how you’ll get through the rest of the day, but you grow and learn with your babies.”
Meanwhile, despite how much Karen “loved watching John become a dad”, she has admitted that her relationship took a back seat during the first few months after giving birth. It was a manic time for them both, but as things have settled now, the pair have been able to rekindle their romance.
The Xpose star said, “Our relationship definitely went on the back-burner for some time because we just didn’t have time for us. We had our first proper full night out with cocktails about six weeks ago and it was lovely.
“I remember we got into the taxi and I slid over and John popped in and I know it sounds silly, but the sensation of sitting in a cab, on our own, that used to be our Friday routine and it was nice to remember it and rekindle it.”
How sweet?!
