Louis Walsh has said that working in Ireland does not pay well enough for him.
The talent manager has worked mostly across the UK and Ireland on various shows, but says Irish jobs don’t pay enough to keep him in Ireland.
Despite the pay issues, the Mayo man says he does love living here.
“I love working here but there’s just not enough money for me. But it’s a great place to live,” he told the Herald.
Louis has just finished his second year on Ireland’s Got Talent after over ten years on The X Factor in the UK.
Speaking about the success of the Virgin Media talent show, he said: “People are bored of [singing competitions] because there’s too much singing, whereas on Ireland’s Got Talent we have comedians, dancers, acrobats and all kinds of singers as well.”
The star said that while he’s happy to be based in Ireland, he does miss the money The X Factor paid.
Speaking about the future of Simon Cowell’s show, he said: “I don’t know what’s happening with X Factor this year, I really don’t know.
“I’m sure it’s back in some shape or some form. I’m sure it’s back, whether it’s an all-celebrity version of it, I don’t know,” he continued.
