Jenny McCarthy and Martin King have revealed it was incredibly tough being away from their first granddaughter during lockdown.
In April of this year, little Sophia made her appearance into the world, but due to restrictions surrounding Covid-19, Martin and Jenny couldn’t see the newborn for a number of weeks.
“When it is your own granddaughter and you can’t get your hands on her, it is so upsetting. It was absolutely heartbreaking,” she told RSVP.
“We did FaceTime videos every other night and we got to see her that way but it wasn’t the same. Nothing is the same as holding a baby and having a physical cuddle.
“I have since got to see her and photograph her and, by God, have inhaled her. I can never make up for the lost time but anytime I can get my hands on her, nobody else is allowed to hold her.”

Little Sophia arrived on the anniversary of Martin’s dad’s passing, and they believe she was a gift from above.
Taking to social media at the time of her birth, the Six O’Clock Show host said, “Woke up today to the incredible news that our first granddaughter had said hello world. Not due to arrive until 22nd but she arrived today.
“Last Easter Monday my dad passed away, this Easter Monday he sent us this wonderful gift.”
