Jennifer Zamparelli is opening up about the moment she realised her Dancing With The Stars co-host Nicky Byrne wouldn’t be returning to the show.
While Nicky only announced his exit from the series last month, Jennifer actually suspected he may be leaving, long before then.
As the presenter explained while on The Six O’Clock Show, she noticed something was different during the 2022 finale.
As she explained while on The Six O’Clock Show: “He [Nicky] snuck out the backdoor on the last show. I was looking at him going “You’re not coming back, are you?”
Continuing: “It’s a huge production and it takes up a lot of your time. It’s a shame because I know how much he loves it.”
Jen also shared just how much she will miss working with him on DWTS.
Saying: “He’s going to be missed because he’s a gent. You know when you meet these people who have these amazing careers and you’re like “what are they going to be like to work with.”
“But to work with, he was very warm and giving as a co-presenter which was very welcoming for me. So he will be missed.”
The Dubliner, who has co-hosted the glitzy show since 2017, announced his exit from the DWTS in August, explaining hehad to make a very ‘tough decision’ to let this role go as he focuses on other commitments.
In an emotional statement he penned: “A little news from me. Sadly I will be stepping away from hosting ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on RTÉ”
Sharing the reason behind his shock departure, he continued:
“Westlife are now ten shows into our ‘Wild Dreams’ tour. We had two phenomenal nights at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium followed by a mind-blowing show at Wembley Stadium and two absolutely sensational nights at Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh”
“This tour continues now taking us around the world including five continents with 60 plus shows up until Summer 2023.
“So with all this in mind, I have had to make some tough decisions. One of them is my future hosting ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on RTÉ – a show I have loved hosting from the very beginning.”
