Jennifer Zamparelli has admitted that she does not want her children to follow her footsteps.
The mum-of-two hosts 2fm’s Breakfast Republic with Bernard O’Shea and Keith Walsh, and also became co-host of Dancing with the Stars this season alongside Nicky Byrne.
Jennifer’s son Enzo recently turned one, and so while he’s a little too young to recognise her on TV, four-year-old daughter Florence is not.
“It’s the first time I’ve really been in telly for 10 years, so I go into creche and all her little friends go ‘I saw you on Dancing ON the Stars last night’! So it’s more so her friends that say anything about it. But she loves it,” she told VIP at the launch of the PM VIP Style Awards on Tuesday.
The presenter also revealed that her daughter has recently enrolled in drama classes, but Jen doesn’t want her going into the showbiz industry.
“I would rather die than see her go into that, I do not want to be a showbiz mom, I don’t want to all that to deal with and tell her about it’s the most fickle business and that she’ll never know when she’s getting her next job, that is my worst nightmare,” she revealed.
“However, apparently as a parent you have to be supportive so I’m doing my best!” she joked. “I went to see her school show and she was like a mini-Britney or something so I was ‘oh no!'”
Jennifer is nominated for Most Stylish Woman at this year’s PM VIP Style Awards alongside eleven other stylish women.
“It’s an absolute pleasure to be nominated I’m so thrilled,” she said.
“A lot of it is to do with Dancing with the Stars and I can’t take all the credit, because Clementine MacNeice is my stylist.”
The Peter Mark VIP Style Awards will take place on Friday, April 26th at the Marker Hotel, Dublin.
