Jennifer Zamparelli credits radio background for Dancing with the Stars gig

Jennifer Zamparelli has shared how she believes that without her radio background, she wouldn’t have been able to present Dancing with the Stars.

The presenter hosted her very own radio show on 2FM for 10 years before stepping back earlier this year.

“It’s been a real privilege to work in one of the coolest radio stations,” Jennifer admitted at the time.

“I just want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to come back and sign off here, where I should.

Jennifer has co-hosted Dancing with the Stars since 2018, alongside various presenters.

Speaking out she said: “Nothing prepares you for live unless you’re doing live and you get the airmiles because it is all experience.

“The only reason I was able to master Dancing with the Stars – I think I have it now after six years – is because I was doing live radio,” she added.

“Radio prepared me for that and stage prepared me for radio so it is all kind of intertwined.

“At the end of the day, there is an element of performance to everything, whether you’re hosting an event on stage or a radio show, all very different mediums so it’s nice to be able to get to do them all because I love them all.”

Back in August, RTE confirmed that the dancing competition would return for another year, with both Jennifer and Doireann Garrihy at the helm of it.

Previously speaking to VIP, Jennifer noted: “I’m doing my dream job: I’m Mc-ing, I’m writing, I’ve done radio for ten tears, I’ve written and produced sitcoms, and I’ve done, and will, hopefully, still be doing live telly.”

There’s no slowing her down!
