With the sun shining and everyone spending more time outdoors, we are inevitably preparing more dinners in to eat in the garden. BBQ season is well and truly upon us, and to help you get the best out of yours, Jamie Oliver has shared his top additions to make your next one perfect.
1. A bucket of ice and beers for much-needed refreshment.
2. A pair of nice long tongs to reach food at the back of the grill without getting burnt.
3. Cheap flower spritzers – I fill one with water to keep the flames down, and one with flavoured vinegar to spritz onto things with crisp skin, for added flavour.
4. A big chopping board and platters for serving up your wares away from the heat.
5. A bowl of soapy water – just because you’re outside, you shouldn’t become a cross-contaminating reprobate.
6. A brush for basting to stop the food drying out and to pack it with flavour at the same time. (A herb brush is even better!)
7. Sea salt & lemon wedges – make sure you big up the seasoning as you go along.
