Jake Carter has revealed his pride and adoration after girlfriend Karen Byrne landed a cameo in RTE’s Fair City.
The Dancing with the Stars pro bagged her role in the soap in a few weeks ago. While she was already excited to appear on the show, working alongside her friend and former DWTS contestant Ryan Andrews made the experience even more enjoyable.
Speaking to VIP Magazine, Karen told us, ‘It was one of those things that when it first came in, I just said ‘Oh my god, yeah, Fair City.’ It was only afterward that I said to Jake, ‘What exactly did I just say yes to?’
“I was thinking, ‘I have never acted a day in my life so what am I agreeing to do?’ But it is such an iconic show so I just said yes!
“I filmed a few scenes with Ryan [Andrews] who obviously has a role in Fair City. Mine is just a cameo role and I haven’t heard how long I will be there. To be honest I was just delighted I remembered my lines!”
Her other half Jake Carter couldn’t contain his joy and admits he has high hopes for her acting career.
“Ah listen, it’ll be a James Bond role for Karen next. When she first got the email actually, I was like, ‘She’s definitely going to start coming for my roles in Pantomime! I am not going to have any work’,” he laughed.
“In all seriousness, though, I am delighted for her.”
