Dayl Cronin has revealed he’s absolutely “gutted” after being eliminated from Dancing with the Stars last night.
The Tipperary native was unsuccessful in making it to the final following a tough dance-off against Denise McCormack.
The Hometown star is distraught at the result, but understands that someone needs to go each week.
Speaking to VIP Magazine, a tearful Dayl said, “Everybody there deserves a spot. I wish them all the best in the future, but I’m just gutted that I’m gone.
“I threw everything into this. I had nothing because the band was finished, and I gave it my all, that’s why I got so upset. You think every Sunday, ‘ah yeah, we’ll go home’, but when it does happen, it’s heartbreaking.”
He singer has absolutely no hard feelings towards Denise, and feels they both put in a great effort on the night.
“Denise’s dance was amazing. There could have been just a hair in it. I felt like I gave my best performance and Denise gave hers, so it’s just the judges opinion. That’s just how it goes,” he said.
Dayl continued,”Performing every Sunday has been amazing. I love performing, and to be able to do that every Sunday in front of a live audience and people at home, it’s just been the best experience ever.”
Despite this setback, the star won’t be hanging up his dancing shoes any time soon.
“This is only the start for me, dancing wise. I’m going to keep dancing for the rest of my life,” he said.
“I love dancing. Whether I keep on this dancing, I don’t know, but I’ll definitely go back my roots and my hip-hop and my backflips. I was going to flip there at the end, but I was too tired.”
