Big news for Irish actress Siobhán Cullen as the Obituary and The Dry star has landed a major Hollywood role alongside Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, and Karen Gillan in the upcoming remake of the 1986 cult classic Highlander.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be directed by John Wick mastermind Chad Stahelski and is set to begin filming in early 2026.
Production was originally due to start this autumn but was delayed after Cavill sustained an injury during pre-production.
The star-studded cast also includes Jeremy Irons, Dave Bautista, Kevin McKidd, Djimon Hounsou, and Marisa Abela, making this one of the most exciting ensemble line-ups of the year.

Henry will take on the role of Connor MacLeod, a medieval Scotsman who discovers he is an immortal warrior.
Under the guidance of Ramirez (played by Russell), MacLeod must face rival immortals across the centuries — because, as fans of the original will remember, “There can be only one.”
Meanwhile, Siobhán is set to play a police psychiatrist who discovers the existence of immortals and wants to help MacLeod…..how exciting!
The original 1986 Highlander film starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery, and went on to achieve cult status thanks to its unique mix of fantasy, sword-fighting, and a soundtrack packed with Queen hits like A Kind of Magic and Who Wants to Live Forever.

It later spawned several sequels, a TV series, and even an animated spin-off.
And now, it’s getting the blockbuster reboot treatment!
Can’t wait that long to see Siobhán in action?
Don’t worry, as you can still get your Siobhán fix with season two of Obituary airing now on RTÉ One, with both seasons available to stream on RTÉ Player.
