It looks like Hollywood has the Irish star now!

Yes, Alisha Weir who played the title role in Matilda: The Musical has just landed a huge movie deal.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is set to star in Universal’s untitled monster movie being directed by Radio Silence, the filmmaking collective behind the recent Scream films.

Alisha rose to stardom last year after nabbing the lead in Netflix’s Matilda, which adapted the musical take on the beloved Roald Dahl novel.

The actress was only 11 years old when she was cast in the production, which also starred the likes of Emma Thompson, Andrea Riseborough and Lashana Lynch.

Now, it seems she’s taking a different turn in her acting career as she joins Scream star Melissa Barrera in the new thrilling feature project.

The plot remains fairly hush-hush at the moment, but the project was at one point titled Dracula’s Daughter and centred on a group of kidnappers who abduct a band of young people, one of whom ends up being the titular character

Alisha will apparently play one of the kidnappees who proves to be more than she appears, while Melissa will play one of the kidnappers.

The studio behind the untitled horror feature is in the vein of recent Universal films such as Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man and Nicolas Cage’s Renfield.

Alisha is certainly keeping herself busy anyway with her latest film, Wicked Little Letters – where she stars alongside Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley, set to be released sometime later this year.

There’s no stopping our girl!
