Irish Harry Potter star Devon Murray is reportedly being sued by his former agent for €286,000 in commission fees.

According to the Irish Times, the Kildare native is being sued by Neil Brooks Management, as are his parents, due to him being a minor when he entered the contract in 1998.

The actor played Seamus Finnigan in the franchise, and his family are now filling a counter-claim, hoping to get back €98,000 which they say they paid the agent.

While representing Devon in 1998, his agent was entitled to 12.5 per cent commission for his film and tv earnings, 15 per cent from any tv commercials, and seven per cent from theatre work.

His agent claims that in 2003, the group agreed that he would get an increase in commission payments of 15 per cent for the third and fourth Harry Potter film after successfully negotiating a pay increase for the actor, and then 20 per cent of all subsequent earnings from the movies there after.

It’s alleged that the Murray’s have failed to make payments, which have now amassed to €286,375, and in their defence say that Devon’s increased fee from the movie was agreed with Warner Brothers, independent of his agent.
