Irish footballer Shane Duffy has shared his heartbreak following the death of his dad.
Brian sadly passed away suddenly at the age of 53, leaving the family bereft.
Posting a pic of the pair together, Shane said, “You weren’t just my dad, you were my hero, my idol.
“I’ll miss ringing you after the match and you telling me how sh*te I was. Daddy, I love you and miss you. Look after us all now.”
He continued, “Every time I put that green shirt on for our country I’ll be thinking about you because I know how proud you were [of] me playing for Ireland. Love you and miss you.”
Friends and fellow sports stars shared their condolences with the family, including Robbie Keane who wrote, “So sorry to hear that Shane. I’m thinking of you and the family.”
