Irish designer Paul Costelloe has revealed he’s not happy with Kate Middleton’s Vogue cover.
Paul was Princess Diana’s personal designer for 16 years, and after working so closely with the royal family for such a period of time, was taken aback by Kate’s average styling.
Speaking to Independent.ie about her June cover of the fashion magazine, he said, “I was very disappointed. It wasn’t like Princess Diana at all.
“She’s still stunning, but they could have done a lot more for the cover.
“Kate’s not as individual as Princess Diana. She’s not offering the excitement, unexpectedness and vulnerability that Princess Diana did.”
He did however add, “She’s filling the perfect daughter-in-law role.”
Despite this, Paul would love to work with Kate some day, commenting, “It would be amazing if she could wear my collection, although she has worn Orla Kiely and we should be very proud of her.”
Perhaps he could style her next cover!
