Yesterday saw an historic day for the people of Ireland, as the country voted by an overwhelming majority to repeal the eighth amendment.
The official result of the referendum was announced to the crowd in Dublin Castle yesterday evening, and Irish celebrities are reacting to the new era for Ireland.
Just on the interest of spreading love, thank you to the Irish men, young and old, who have come out in support of women’s rights, who didn’t shy away because it “Wasn’t your issue”

Waking up to a more compassionate Ireland is an amazing feeling, I’m so proud to be Irish. To everyone involved in the YES vote thank you, thank you for trusting me and all the other women in this country by giving us the choice over our own bodies. #Repeal8th #togetherforyes pic.twitter.com/BK0GZkLhBX
