Sarah Bolger has landed another exciting Hollywood role.
Yes, the Irish actress has joined an impressive ensemble cast for Fog City, a new noir drama from filmmaker Dan Pritzker.
Best known for her recent role in The Westies, Sarah will star alongside Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story actor Cooper Koch, Emma star Angus Imrie, The Lord of the Rings actress Miranda Otto and Carla Gugino.
Set during the construction of San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge in the Great Depression, Fog City blends historical fact and fiction to tell the interconnected stories of five very different characters.
Sarah will take on the role of Liza Orr, a Dust Bowl transplant trying to forge a new life in Depression-era San Francisco.
Her story intertwines with those of underground abortionist Inez Burns (Carla Gugino), police inspector Steven Walsh (Cooper Koch), blackmailing socialite Dorothy Hargrove (Miranda Otto) and Dorothy’s son Martin (Angus Imrie).
The film is currently in production and is set to shoot through October across San Francisco and Melbourne.
Speaking to US publication Deadline about the project, director Dan Pritzker said: “It’s a privilege to work on a story about San Francisco, a city I love, and to bring together such a great group of actors.
“I’m excited to work with such a talented cast and crew to tell this story.”
Sarah has enjoyed a busy few years on screen, most recently starring in MGM+’s The Westies.
She will next appear alongside James McAvoy and Julianne Moore in the thriller Control, adding Fog City to an increasingly impressive list of upcoming projects.
With an Independent Spirit Award nomination already under her belt for In America, Sarah’s latest casting is another exciting milestone in an already impressive career.
