The Dubliner, famous for his roles in Dunkirk and The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, will join the likes of Richard Madden, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie in the hugely anticipated film, due for release in November 2020.
The 26-year-old, who was unveiled at the Disney 23 Expo in California this weekend, will play the character of Druig – who exhibits superhuman speed and strength, as well as the ability to fly and teleport.

The news comes following much speculation that the Irish star would be making an appearance on the big Marvel screen, a move which will comes as no shock to his former co-star Colin Farrell.
Farrell recently heaped praise on the young actor, saying “It’s really incredible what he has achieved in a few years.”
“Anyone who knows Barry can testify to the fact that he has gone through a certain amount of experience in his own personal life.
“He has experienced a certain amount of desolation in his personal life, in his past, things that I would find in my contemplation of such loss, completely insurmountable.”
Huge congratulations to Barry!
