It really is that time of year again.
We’re meeting our Eurovision hopefuls.
The first three acts have been revealed so far, so let’s meet them….
Bobbi Arlo
First up is Singer Bobbi Arlo, who is one of six acts vying to represent her home country with her song Powerplay.
A rising star in the Irish music scene, Bobbi Arlo has gained notable recognition, including a nomination for Song of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Music Awards for her anthemic track Feel It.
Known for her vibrant, enigmatic sound, Bobbi Arlo draws inspiration from artists like Shygirl and Sega Bodega, blending club-ready beats with deeply personal lyrics.
Speaking on The Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1 on Monday, the singer said: “I’m a huge Eurovision fan first and foremost. There’s been such a Bambie [Thug] effect where other countries are sending acts similar to them. It’s really inspiring.”
Continuing on she said how the music industry in Ireland is “so vast and so diverse” and added: “I’m excited to be the next step in that.”
Reylta
Next up is Reylta, who is hoping to compete with her song Singing Fire.
Reylta, whose music is described as being “rooted deeply in Irish tradition and heritage” is a captivating singer-songwriter hailing from rural Ireland, whose music blends bittersweet melodies with a layered, alternative edge.
Billed by The Irish Independent as “Galway’s Alt Folk Queen”, Reylta’s debut album, Everything Unsaved Will Be Lost, was released last October.
Adgy
Donegal-born Adgy is the latest act to be announced this week hoping to impress at Eurosong 2025 and represent Ireland at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest.
Adgy’s song is entitled Run into the Night.
The track is a Celtic pop anthem written by Adgy and produced by Eurovision legend Ivan Klymenko (Kalush – Stefania, ESC 2022 winner).
The Donegal-born singer-songwriter performed on Eurosong 2023 with his track “Too Good For Your Love”, and since then has taken some time to develop his music and grow as an artist.
The remaining Eurosong acts will be revealed on this week on The Ray D’Arcy Show.
The six Eurosong finalists will then compete on February 7th on The Late Late Eurosong Special.
While the winner will go on to represent Ireland at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland in May this year.
