The celebs certainly brought their A-game for the quarter final of Dancing with the Stars.

Performing a samba with Kai Widdrington, model Grainne Gallanagh channelled her inner Wonder Woman.

The pair scored 22 points, and while the judges were happy with their efforts, felt there was still room for improvement.

Lorraine Barry told them, “This is the way to open the show on International Women’s day!

“You definitely got into character there and you didn’t leave anything out. For me, it was little bit missing in timing. But still a great start.”

Fair City star Ryan Andrews and partner Giulia Dotta performed a fun-filled charleston, and scored top marks from the judges.

“Giulia did an incredible job,” he beamed afterwards. “It was a really hard dance and we put everything into it and it really paid off. It was made all the worthwhile to get those comments.”

Judge Brian Redmond said, “I would pay to watch that, all day long. For me that Charleston was beyond critic – it was perfect.”

Loraine Barry added, “It went beyond the next level and it went beyond anything I’ve ever seen on Dancing with the Stars. I’m going to pay homage to the king and queen of Charleston!”

Performing an American Smooth the Top Cat theme, hurler Aidan Fogarty and Emily Barker scored 25 points.

“It was great to be a cat again representing the Kilkenny cats,” he said afterwards. “I have had huge support form the Kilkenny players. Normally we’re taking lumps out of each other, but Jackie Tyrell and Michael Rice are hereto support me tonight.”

Judge Lorraine Barry told them, “For me you look so comfortable in a dancing position. Your fluidity in close hold is unbelievable.

“Your open work was great, but I’d like a little more ballroom content. It wasn’t tip-top, but cats have nine lives and I think you will live another day.”

Taking to the dancefloor, Lottie Ryan and Pasquale La Rocca performed a paso doble to the theme of Mission Impossible.

Impressing the judges, they scored 28 points.

Darren Bennett told them, “It was a very technical paso doble. It delivered a punch through every movement. Great characterisation within a very contemporary piece of music.  For me, it wasn’t Mission Impossible – it was mission accomplished.”

Brian added, “Every week you bring so much energy, what you’ve shown tonight was refinement with your energy.

“You knew when to use it but also when to contain and control it. Very string paso, you’re getting very, very close to getting to the top.”

Fr Ray Kelly and Kylee Vincent performed an American Smooth, but after scoring 15 points, found themselves in the bottom two against Lottie Ryan and Pasquale La Rocca before being eliminated.

Sharing his commiseration, Darren Bennett said, “ Fr Ray, every week you have come out and entertained the nation – tales of the unexpected.

“Who would have thought 10 weeks ago we would have a priest dancing to Fr Ted on national TV? It wasn’t half bad American Smooth when it could have been an American nightmare!”
